Jean Ratchford

Jean Marie Ratchford passed away November 19, 2017. Beloved wife of Lloyd. Loving mother of Kathleen (Timothy) Clegg, William (Kathryn), Michael (Cindy), Robert, and Patricia (Philip) Dennis. Dear grandmother of Kelly, Stephen, Katie, and Erin and great-grandmother of Jack, Bryce, Brynn, and Colin.

Jean had a special love of family and friends. She had a zest for life that included volunteering at her children's high school and playing golf. In fact, she was the first female participant in the family sponsored "Ratchford Open." She played Mah-Jongg, Pinochle, and loved the beach and boating. Jean's house was always opened to family, neighbors, and friends. Her house was the favorite after school hang out for all her children's friends. Fresh baked cookies and pies were always available. Food, drink and great conversation were free flowing and encouraged in Jean Ratchford’s home. Places that brought her special joy were Glenn Lake, MI, Charlevoix, MI, Myrtle Beach, SC, Siesta Key, FL, and Carmel, CA -- "Life's A Beach!" She will be greatly missed

Visitation Friday, November 24 from 4-8pm, with a Vigil Service at 7pm, at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Road in Livonia. Funeral Mass Saturday, November 25 at 10am, in-state at 9:30am, at St. Colette Catholic Church 17600 Newburgh Road in Livonia. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
