Joanna was a very kind hearted, generous, and honorable lady who loved life, had a smile that warmed up a room and hugs ever so remembered. She lived life with dignity, grace and compassion. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic religion and her spiritual devotion continues to inspire and encourage our faith.
The grace, charity and compassion that Joanna embodied lives on through her daughter who takes her mother’s lessons to heart and follows by example.
She reminded us of the value of an education and perseverance and hard work are the foundation to success. Joanna is an inspiration to us all and her strength and wisdom will forever remain in our hearts.
Joanna was extremely proud of her only daughter Urszula Aneta Diegel and all her accomplishments and pursing her Master’s Degree in Nurse Anesthesia and her marriage to Terry and gaining a wonderful son-in-law.
Joanna loved to cook and exploring at the local Costco for culinary inspirations. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and famous for culinary cuisine from Poland. No one could forget her pierogis and her secret recipe of stuffed cabbage.
Joanna also went for strolls around the neighborhood enjoying the beauty and bounty of God’s beauty and socializing with her neighbors. She also found her independence and enjoyed exercise and yoga at the Livonia Senior Center, going to lunch and the casino with her friends from exercise class. She was also looking forward to her upcoming trip to Poland to visit her dearest sister and brother-in-law.
Joanna and her husband came from simple beginnings and emigrated from Poland to provide a better life for her family. She always stated to be proud of where you came from, who you are today and be the best you can be. It is a testament of your character.
Joanna’s most important role in life was her amazing role as a mother, wife and friend. We are so honored and blessed to have such a wonderful, giving and gracious angel. It has been a blessing and privilege to have her beautiful spirit touch our lives. Her love will live eternally in all of us and will never be forgotten.
