Born on May 16, 1933, in Boston, Massachusetts, Joseph’s life was marked by deep devotion—to his family, his faith, his country, and his passions. As a Korean War Era Veteran, he proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1951 to 1959, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. After his service, he went on to work as a 1st Class Machinist at General Motors, dedicating 28 years of skillful craftsmanship before retiring.
In 1970, fate brought him back into the life of Louise Morelli, whom he first met as a child when their fathers were friends. Joseph had come over to fix her record player, and ten years later, their paths crossed again. Love blossomed quickly, and they were married six months later on July 25, 1970. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, and faith. For nearly 55 years, Joseph and Louise were devoted parishioners at St. Colette Catholic Church in Livonia.
Joseph was a proud and loving father to his two sons, Anthony (Marcella) Angelosanto and Ron (Rory) Angelosanto. He found immense joy in his role as a grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with Annina (Alex), Alicia, Anthony, Ronnie, Domenic, Maria, Sawyer, and Quinn.
He is survived by his beloved sister Anne Marie Smith, many dear nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of close friends—Joseph had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went, touching countless lives with his warmth, humor, and kindness.
His passions were as rich and varied as the life he lived. He loved classic cars and proudly restored a 1960 Thunderbird Convertible in 1990—bringing back the joy of his younger years. He found peace in nature, whether fishing or simply being outdoors. He was an avid coin collector and a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his beloved Louise and being with the family he adored.
Joseph's legacy is one of strength, loyalty, and love—a life lived with purpose, service, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
