Linda Marie Mitchell was born on June 18, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan to her parents, Lawrence and Alta Morrison. Linda peacefully passed away on November 21, 2023, at the age of 78. She was the beloved wife of the late Keith Mitchell and preceded in death by Annette’s father, John Ohanian. Linda was the loving mother of Annette Marie (Steven) Leiger and the cherished grandmother of Sarah Marie. She is remembered as the dearest sister of Georgie Morrison. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous lifelong friends who were like family.
Linda was a beautiful and stylish woman. She was the ultimate homemaker and created a home of warmth that had an impact on all who entered. Linda had an exceptional eye for decorating, finding joy in embellishing her home for every holiday season. She had an innate talent to create significant beauty with any craft she chose to pursue over the years including, cake decorating, baking at Christmas, candy making at Easter, sewing, quilting, cross stitching, and bow making. Her eye for color allowed her to create the most beautiful silk flower arrangements and centerpieces, which she adored giving to others. Her passion for these creative pursuits reflected her love for making her surroundings and those of others warm and inviting.
Linda had a selfless spirit and held the ability to handle each emotional and physical challenge of her life with the utmost grace and joy. Never was she without a smile, a kind word or love to share with those around her, friends, and strangers alike. Whether you had known her for a moment or for decades, she had the unique gift to make you recognize that you held a special and important place in her life. The thankfulness that she held in her heart for all of life’s gifts along with her generosity and tireless energy to do her very best for all of those she loved will forever be unmatched. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
