She was born December 12, 1937 in Detroit, daughter of the late William Baird. She became a child of God and an heir of eternal life when she was baptized January 2, 1938. She graduated from Cooley High School, Detroit, in 1956.
She married the love of her life, Edward Henzi, on March 1, 1957. They were blessed with over 63 years of marriage and four children. Margaret was employed for many years by Chase Bank.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Livonia and actively served the congregation in a number of capacities. She and her husband supported Christian education and continue to do so. She will miss the love and support of her church family.
Margaret was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and extended family. She enjoyed hosting dinner parties, attending her family’s sporting events, and wonderful family vacations. She was an avid reader, a life-long Detroit Tiger’s fan, and proud of her Scottish heritage.
She is survived by her husband Edward; daughter Gail (David) Wolter of Tucson, AZ; Rev. Ross (Carolyn) Henzi, Brillion, WI; Scott (Christine) Henzi, Northville; and Matthew (Nancy) Henzi, Northville. Grandchildren David and Ted Wolter; Erin Henzi, Carol (Derek) Draeger; Kristin (Travis) Turnquist; Katie Henzi and Emma Henzi; Stewart and Abby Henzi; Ian and Knox Henzi; and great-grandchildren Saylor Draeger and Avery Turnquist. The soul of Margaret Henzi now lives on in heaven. Her earthly remains will be buried at Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia. There they await the great and glorious last day, when Jesus returns and says to all who believe, “Come, you who are blessed by my father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.” To God alone be the glory!
Visitation will take place on Monday, February 1 from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Livonia. The service will begin at 12:00 pm. Pastor James Hoff will officiate.
