Martha was born on August 24, 1947 to her parents Seth T. and Edith Hoisington in Adrian, Michigan. She was kind-hearted, compassionate, and selfless, and her unwavering love for the Lord guided the way she lived and cared for others. She was a pillar of strength and a testament to quiet courage, as she endured life’s trials with grace, always remaining faithful and joyfully inspiring those around her.
Martha was a devoted wife to her husband for 57 years, as well as a dedicated mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her husband, Robert, her daughter, Rachel McGowan (Robert), two grandchildren, Evan Horne and Colin Horne, and her sister Rachel Meyer (Robert).
Throughout her life, Martha’s creative passions and musical talents were a true reflection of her joyful spirit, bringing beauty and comfort to all who knew her. She cherished music, expressing her soul through the piano and violin, and also sharing her voice through hymns of worship. Her love for writing, drawing, painting, and crafting was matched only by the happiness she found in sharing her creativity with others. Above all, Martha treasured every moment with her family, especially her grandchildren, always present to celebrate achievements, offer encouragement, and nurture their dreams with love and faith. Her legacy will endure in the memories we hold dear, the values she instilled, and the unconditional love she so freely gave. We take comfort in the knowledge that Martha rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her soul alive and free in heaven.
