He was the loving husband of Carol for 34 years. Beloved father of Matthew and Michael. Cherished brother of Zaina (Jeff) Clark, Sue (Domenic) Policicchio, and Fay (Leo) Remijan. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by the family’s many pets.
Mike was preceded in passing by his parents, Youssif and Maria, as well as his siblings Frederick (Doc) and Fred (JR).
Mike was born on September 30, 1963, in Ponta Porã, Brazil. He was raised in Dearborn following his family's immigration to the United States. Mike was a proud Fordson Tractor, where he was known for his time on the baseball team as a pitcher. Upon graduating, he went on to attend the University of Michigan Dearborn, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. He spent his career managing and leading manufacturing companies. Mike's work was his passion, bringing him to many different states and countries.
Outside of work, Mike liked playing and watching sports. When he was younger, he played recreational softball, and as he got older, golf became his favorite pastime. Mike enjoyed playing courses all over Michigan. He also loved our Detroit sports teams and, at one time, held season tickets for the Lions and Tigers. Some of his family's most cherished memories were those made at their cottage in Sugar Springs, where they enjoyed spending time on their boat, fishing, golfing, and making new friends.
Five years ago, Mike's life dramatically changed when he was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and was told he would not leave the hospital without a new set of lungs. As a result, he was fast-tracked to receive a lung transplant. Mike’s recovery was challenging, but he always remained positive and rarely complained.
