

Nancy Kay Hytinen, born June 10, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to Samuel and Kathleen (Burton) Hokett, passed away on January 10, 2025. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be remembered for her loving heart and selfless spirit.
On June 10, 1972, Nancy married the love of her life, Nicholas Hytinen. Together, they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage, raising two children, Nick and Dave. Family was at the heart of everything Nancy did, and her greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Nancy’s giving nature was evident in her dedication to volunteering. She was a passionate supporter and volunteer of Kids on the Block Puppet Troupe, served as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, and acted as chaplain for the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Nancy had a deep love for music, especially classic country and The Beatles. She was a guitarist who found joy in sharing her music with others. An avid golfer, Nancy organized the Hy-Ho Golf Outing for 12 years, creating cherished memories for her family.
To cherish her memory Nancy leaves behind her devoted husband, Nicholas, her two children, Nick (Tammy) Hytinen and Dave (Leanna) Hytinen, and her beloved grandchildren, Aaron and Isaac. Nancy is also survived by her siblings Eddie (Pam) Hokett, Jack (Maggie) Hokett, Alice Gelletly, and Charlie (Patti) Hokett.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Gary Gelletly.
Nancy’s legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a beacon of light in her community and a source of unwavering support for her family and friends.
