Born on June 15, 1933, in Santopadre, Italy, Olga was the beloved daughter of Donato and Maria Zagaroli. It was in her hometown that she met the love of her life, Michele Iafrate, when they were young neighbors. They married in Italy in 1954, and built a beautiful life together, full of love and devotion to family. In 1968, Olga and Michele moved to the United States, eventually settling in Michigan, where they raised their children.
Olga was a woman whose life centered around her family. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love and care were felt in every home-cooked meal, every carefully canned jar from her garden, and every stitch of her beautiful crocheted and knitted creations. She was an artist in every sense; her hands always busy with crafts, and her heart always full of love.
A woman of deep faith, Olga was a dedicated parishioner of St. Colette Catholic Church for over thirty years. Her faith guided her life and gave her strength through both joyful and difficult times.
Olga is survived by her loving son, Gianni (Susan) Iafrate; her devoted daughter-in-law, Margaret Iafrate; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her brother, Benny (Sylvia) Zagaroli. She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Michele, who passed in 1998; her dear son, Alessio; her sister, Yolanda; and her parents, Donato and Maria.
Olga’s life was a testament to love, and dedication to family. Her warmth, wisdom, and generosity will be remembered always by all who were fortunate to know her.
