Patricia Lynn Kieling (nee Hurley) was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 4, 1966 to Donald and Emma Hurley, the second of three children. She grew up in Chicago and lived there until1978 they moved to Michigan. She attended Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary, Gill Elementary, Power Middle School and then graduated from Farmington High School. During high school, she participated in the marching band, orchestra and track. Pat went to Oakland Community College from 1984 until 1986. She worked for 3 PM which eventually became McKesson moving up from a department secretary to a Quality Assurance Analyst, giving 27 years of service to the company.
Patti started dating Max in the Spring of 1983 while they were in high school together. They dated for nine years until they were married on May 11, 1991. Pat and Max had three wonderful daughters together Melani Elizabeth, Mikala Elayne and Madilynn Emma. She is survived by her husband and children as well as her parents Donald and Emma, brother Donald Jr., sister Cassandra and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pat was a very giving person through her volunteer work with many organizations that her family was involved in. She loved sewing, cross stitch, genealogy, scrap booking as well as being a band mom and Girl Scout leader and product sales cupboard/manager. She also was the treasurer for the Clarenceville Band Boosters and the senior all night party. At bowling, she was the envelope collector for the afternoon squad. She was an avid fan of her daughters’ sports team, which include gymnastics, bowling, basketball, cheerleading, both competitive and sideline, softball, track and volleyball and elementary floor hockey and flag football. She enjoyed spending time with her family and finding out what was happening with everyone. She traveled with her family to Frankenmuth and Manistee in Michigan as well as Kentucky and Tennessee.
Patti was a cancer survivor who fought a courageous battle successfully in 1996 and succumbed to it after a second battle over the last four years, never losing that fight and strive to overcome a terrible disease.
Friends may visit Patti's family during a visitation in her honor on Friday November 23, 2012 at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile in Livonia, Michigan 48152. Visitation will be from 1 pm until 4 pm in the afternoon, then 5 pm until 8 pm that same evening. Her funeral ceremony will be on Saturday November 24, 2012 at 11 am at the funeral home with visitation starting at 10 am. Harry J. Will is located on the north side of W. Six Mile Road, east of I-275 and Newburgh Road.
Pat's family asks that attendees of her visitation and funeral service wear something with pink on it.
