With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia June Scarlett, lovingly known as “Pat,” on June 16, 2025, under the compassionate care of Angela Hospice. Born on December 12, 1928, Pat was a woman of remarkable grace, strength, and kindness. She was the beloved wife of the late Charlie Scarlett, with whom she shared an extraordinary 68 years of marriage—a partnership built on deep love, faith, and family.
Pat was the devoted mother of five children: Judy (the late Earl) Dineen, Jim (Jane) Scarlett, Mary Ann (Carl) Morgan, Jerry (Pam) Scarlett, and Patty (Mike Deneweth) Scarlett. Her legacy lives on through her cherished nine grandchildren and their spouses, as well as her eleven great-grandchildren—with one more blessing on the way. She was the dear sister of the late Don Kelley and is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Gail Kelley.
Pat lived a life of deep devotion—to her faith, her family, and her community. A proud and active lifelong Catholic, her faith was her anchor, guiding her with purpose and compassion. She found joy in the simple and beautiful parts of life: cheering on her favorite Detroit sports teams, sharing laughter with loved ones, and nurturing lasting friendships wherever she went.
She worked part-time for over 40 years at Sears in the Jewelry Department, where she was a trusted colleague and warm presence to customers and co-workers alike. Later in life, Pat found a second home at Cedarbrook Senior Independent Living, where she continued to embrace life fully, staying active and forming many meaningful friendships.
Those who knew Pat will remember her as kind, welcoming, and full of quiet strength. Her greatest joy was her family—they were her world, her pride, and her constant source of happiness.
A memorial Mass celebrating Pat’s life will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a gathering beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Colette Catholic Church in Livonia. She will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
In honor of Pat’s generous spirit, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure—she is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure
