Peter Bernardi

Peter was preceded in death by his grandsons Jonathon Bernardi and James Bernardi, and son-in-law Clifford Kasmier.

Peter is survived by his wife Carmela Bernardi, son John (Ann Marie) Bernardi, daughter Cindy Kasmier, granddaughter Kate Kasmier, granddaughter-in-law Jenna Bernardi, and great-granddaughters Olivia and Layla Bernardi.

Peter was the only child born to Giovanni and Frances Bernardi. He graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn, MI, in 1949, where he ran varsity track and field. He attended Henry Ford Community College until he was swept off of his feet by Carmela. They married in June of 1951. Carmela is happy to say she cooked Pete’s pasta for 68 years. An accomplished painter and conservator, Peter worked for The Henry Ford for 45 years. He was most proud of his family, and has always been described by those who knew him as gentle, humble, and interesting.

A private family visitation and mass will be held Friday, May 1 at St. Edith Catholic Church.
