

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years; Marlene, children; Todd (wife Lorelei), Tori Herndon, Glenn (wife Patti) and Rob (wife Kymberli), eight grandchildren; William, Lindsay, Nolan, Ashley, Scott, Desmond, Connor and Grant, siblings; Jack (wife Marilyn), Barbara Tedford and Evelyn Sprague; brother in-law Gilbert Bridges (wife Susie). He is preceded in death by mother and father; Grace and Victor, siblings; Helen Schwab-Delongchamp and William (Bill).
Bob was born on February 8, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Redford High School in 1950 and honorably served his country during the Korean War from 1952 - 1954, ascending to the rank of Sargent 1st Class. He married Marlene J. Bridges in 1956, eventually settling down in Livonia. Bob spent much of his professional career as the Accounts Payable Manager of Federal Department Stores, eventually retiring from New York Carpet World in the accounting department. The couple welcomed four children into their lives, raising them in a loving environment. His children remember him as a caring, hardworking father with a passion for gardening and working in his yard.
Early in his life Bob was a talented figure skater, and later could not pass up an opportunity to hit the dance floor with his wife. Following his “retirement”, Bob found his hidden passion, volunteering as a parapro with special need students at Livonia Public Schools. Before being stricken with Alzheimers, Bob was a dedicated member of Ward Presbyterian Church in Northville, Michigan and the Elks Club in Plymouth, Michigan.
His family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday February 22, 2015 from 3-8 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.
His life will be celebrated with a Funeral Service on Monday February 23, 2015 at 11 am, with in state 10 am, at Ward Presbyterian Church, 40000 Six Mile Rd. (west of Haggerty) in Northville. The service will be held in the Chapel located in the northwest corner of the building.
The family would like to thank all those who lovingly cared for him during his courageous battle with Alzheimers.
