Beloved husband of Mary M. Shaner for 41 cherished years. He is fondly remembered as well by his brother Tom (Ellie) Shaner, sister-in-law Sharon Shaner, and his niece and nephews — Colette (Scott) Richards, Steve Shaner, and the late Randy Shaner. Bob is also loved and missed by Eileen and Gaylen Wallis; Erin, Steve, Oliver, Teddy, and Jane Gottbreht; Brandon, Katie, Dawson, and Emma Wallis—each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Jennie Shaner, and his brother, Ken Shaner.
A devoted chiropractor, Bob dedicated his life to helping others heal. After graduating from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 1979, he began practicing in 1980. His work was not just a profession, but a calling—he cared deeply for his patients and found great joy in improving their well-being.
Bob had an endless curiosity and loved to share his wisdom and insight with everyone he met. His warmth, humor, and generosity of spirit left an impact on countless lives, both inside and outside of his practice.
His legacy will live on in the many people he helped, the family he loved, and the knowledge and kindness he shared so freely.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Bob’s memory are invited to make a contribution to the Michigan Chiropractic Foundation Scholarship, supporting future generations of chiropractors who share his passion for helping others.
