

Born on October 23, 1938, to Ronald and Gwendolyn Biskner, Ron grew up in Waterford, Michigan. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Sally Shaw, and together they built a beautiful family, blessed with five children, fourteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Ron joined the Navy after high school, then attended Flint Junior College, before a career that included 36 years with General Motors. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and steady dedication. These qualities defined both his work life and his home life.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Sally; his children, Stephanie (Jeff) Gidley, John (Caroline) Biskner, Sister Mary Immaculata, and Marcy (Steve) Paynter; his daughter-in-law, Amy Biskner; and his brothers, Joseph, Gary (Gail), and Larry Biskner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, David Biskner.
Ron’s life was marked by a gentle spirit, a loving heart, and a sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him. He had a remarkable gift for turning any stranger into a friend, a warmth that made everyone feel welcome in his presence. He lived with quiet purpose and unwavering faith, offering kindness freely and loving his family deeply.
He found delight in simple pleasures, including traveling “up north” to the family cabin and spending time with the people he loved most. He will be remembered for his steadfast devotion, his easy smile, his big, unforgettable hugs, and the way he made every person feel seen.
Ron lived a life of grace, purpose, and love, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 20, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm.
Ron will lie in state on Friday, November 21, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at Assumption Grotto Church, 13770 Gratiot Ave, Detroit, MI 48205, followed by a funeral mass beginning at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest at the church's cemetery.
