Rose Marie Fleszar of Detroit, Michigan passed away February 22nd, 2017. Loving mother of Sharon (the late Jay) Gruchala and Danny (Patty) Fleszar. Beloved grandmother of Kimberly (Keith) Robertson, Jason (Jennifer) Gruchala, and Ashley (Joseph) Rohde. Cherished great grandmother of Kendall, Kyle, Kadyn, Joey, and the late Henry.
Rose and her late husband Henry were childhood sweethearts and married in 1949 at Our Lady Queen of Angles Church in Detroit; it was a love story from the beginning. Rose and Henry enjoyed traveling, going on Sunday drives to Bishop Park in Wyandotte and family picnics. Rose would go fishing with her husband even if the weather wasn't the best because Henry wanted to go. Rose would wake up every morning to have breakfast with her husband and prepare his lunch for work. She took pride in removing virtually any stains out of Henry's work clothes with her homemade mixtures, and concoctions. Rose was a fan of Jack Lalanne and watched him everyday. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. Her traditional Polish dinners, fruit jello and her delicious apple cake, are just a few of her signature dishes. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed bowling, and she bowled in women's bowling leagues into her late 70s. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rose supported her family in all of their endeavors; she will be missed by many.
Rose's family will receive guests for a visitation on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 4-8pm and again on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4-8pm with a 7pm scripture service at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.
Rose's life will be celebrated with a funeral Mass on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:00am (In State 9:30am) at St. Colette Catholic Church 17600 Newburgh Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.
Rose will be laid to rest next to her husband Henry in St. Hedwig Catholic Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
