

Gomulka , Ruth A 10/7/1925 - 4/28/2016 Ruth A. (Wolf) Gomulka, 90 Northville Twp, MI We lost our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend on April 28, 2016, after a series of illnesses. Ruth passed away at the U-M ACE Unit at St. Joe's Hospital, surrounded by her children. Ruth was born on October 7, 1925, in Buffalo, NY, to Albert and Mabel (Smoker) Wolf. Her family moved to Detroit when she was a young child. Ruth and her former husband, Ted Gomulka, moved to Redford Twp and had five children. Ruth was the administrative assistant to the Civil Service Commission in Redford for 34 years, retiring at the age of 74. She moved to Northville Twp following her retirement. Ruth was a gracious, beautiful woman whose heart was rich with love. She was funny beyond measure, even in her sickest hours. She was a devout Christian and her love and faith were boundless. Ruth's love and devotion to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were apparent to everyone; she was immensely proud of all of them.
Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons and two daughters: Val (Rev. Elaine) of Shiner, TX; granddaughters Jennifer (James) Miller of Clermont, FL, Alison of Plano, TX and Lauren at home, and great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Paityn and Aidan Miller; C. Lynn Wolf of Chelsea; Laurie Palazzolo of Farmington; Ted (Sharon) of Livonia; grandchildren Dr. Jessica (Ryan) Noel, of Ypsilanti Twp, Adam, of Brooklyn, NY, Ana of Ypsilanti and Teodor, at home, and great grandsons, Jonah and Everett Noel; and James (Natalie) of Ortonville. Ruth also leaves behind her two special granddogs, Miles and Hailey. In addition, Ruth is survived by many nieces and nephews and best friend, Susan. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Theodore Gomulka; brother Albert; sisters Bernice and Doreene; many in-laws; one niece and one nephew and her beloved beagle, Midge. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 17, at 1 PM, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Plymouth, MI, The Very Reverend Dr. Lisa Tucker-Gray officiating.
