Theresa Carmen Scicluna, lovingly known as Tessie or Tess, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on August 12, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, to her parents, Frank and Ersilia Miruzzi.
Tessie was the beloved wife of the late John L. Scicluna, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories. Together they raised a close and loving family and enjoyed many years of travel, including more than four decades of wintering in Florida at their second home.
She was a devoted and loving mother to five children: Mary (Jim) Romine, John (Holly) Scicluna, Frank Scicluna, Caroline (Tim) Deacon, and Jean (Darrell) Anderson. Tessie was a cherished grandmother to Paul (Lara), Alex, Sarah (Alex), Luke, Matt (Jessie), Caileigh (Alan), Rachel (Michael), Maria (Alex), James, and Abigail, and a proud great-grandmother to Evelyn, Grace, Isabella, Francesca, Penelope, Remington, Liam, Luna, Jorie, Robert, Wilson, Jack, and Danny.
She was the dearest sister of Louis (Ginny), sister-in-law to Joseph, Isabel, and Judy, and was preceded in death by her siblings Mary Ann, Emmanuel, and Frank. Tessie is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graduate of Western High School, Tessie dedicated her life to her family as a devoted stay-at-home mother, raising her five children with unwavering love and care. She was a master crafter and quilter, delighting in creating handmade gifts that will continue to be treasured by her family for generations. Tessie loved to read, but above all, she cherished time spent surrounded by her family.
A woman of deep faith, Tessie was a proud and devout Catholic and a recent parishioner of St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Plymouth. Her faith guided her life and was a source of strength, comfort, and joy.
A memorial gathering will be held at Harry J. Will Funeral Home on Friday, January 2nd, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Saturday, January 3rd, at 11:30am (in state 11am) at St. Kenneth Catholic Church of Plymouth.
In Tessie’s memory, donations may be made to St. Kenneth Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul.
Tessie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, strong faith, creative hands, and the deep love she shared with all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.
