

Thomas Richard Ellerholz, lovingly known as “Tommy,” was born on October 31, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, to his parents, Milford “Pudge” and Marilynn Ellerholz. He passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 67.
Tommy was the beloved brother of Carol (Tom) Curling and Debra “Debbie” (Mike) Sagan and was preceded in death by his brother Gerald “Jerry” Ellerholz. He was a cherished uncle to Kelley (Brian) McLafferty, Laine (Richard) Aldridge, and Adam (Jenna) Curling. He held a special place in the hearts of his great- nephews: Cameron and Declan McLafferty, and Gavin Aldridge. Tommy was also a treasured and loyal friend to many throughout his life.
A graduate of Franklin High School in Livonia, Tommy went on to build a successful career as a controls engineer with Fives DyAG, where he worked from 1981 until his retirement in 2018. Dedicated and hardworking, he made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the company.
Beyond his career, Tommy lived life to the fullest and enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid bowler, often found at Woodland Lanes with his league, and he loved fishing, golfing, and cheering on his Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. Known as a grill master, Tommy was happiest cooking for others. His passion for sports, laughter, and time spent with family and friends made him unforgettable.
Tommy’s kind spirit, humor, and warm heart left an imprint on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers in Tommy’s memory.
