

Thomas is survived by his devoted wife of over 40 years, Irene DeLuca Prus. He is also survived by his sister Kathryn Prus Richardson. He was predeceased by his sisters Doris Prus Sullivan and brother A. Michael Prus.
Thomas was a beloved uncle to Peter Sullivan, John Sullivan, Jane Sullivan Beiles, Michael Prus, Elizabeth Prus Myers, Jeffrey Prus, Patrick Richardson, Tony Rainko, Deanna Rainko DiPonio, Richard DeLuca, Irene DeLuca Lind, Jacqueline DeLuca, Peter DeLuca, Rose DeLuca Gollnitz, and Vinnie DeLuca. He was adored by his many grandnieces and grandnephews. His faithful cat, Shadow, will also miss him dearly.
Thomas was born in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Michael A. Prus and Sophia Cichon Prus. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1957 and University of Detroit Mercy in 1961. He was founder of International Consumer Products and had a long, successful career as a manufacturer’s representative specializing in selling lumber and building materials to large retailers like Home Depot, Builder’s Square, and K-Mart.
Thomas had an expansive network of friends who were drawn to him for his kind, personable, and fun-loving nature. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and amateur chef. For over fifty years, Tom brought friends and family together at his hunting property and lodge in northeast Michigan during deer hunting season and throughout the year. He would entertain friends, organize activities like canoeing, golfing, and horse racing, and prepare fantastic meals. In recent years, Tom was the ringleader for annual family deer hunting trips with his brother, nephews, and grandnephews.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 am on August 23 at St. Edith’s Parish, 15089 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, Michigan, It will be followed by a luncheon at DeLuca’s Restaurant 27424 West Warren Rd, Westland, Michigan.
