Thomas Howard Newton

Thomas was preceded in death by his father Howard Newton, his mother Anne (Kluge) Newton and his brother James Newton.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Dana Newton, his 5 children Scott, Jeffery (Margaret), Sheryl (George) Zayed, Charles (Jennifer)Presley and Steven Presley, 9 grandchildren Justin, Melissa, Andrew, Christina, Nicholas, Jordan, Jacob, Alena, Diana and 3 great grandchildren, Enzo, Sophia and Alex; his sister Linda (Newton) Wesson, her children Tim, Kelly, Todd, Michelle, Kristie and Allie and

his brother’s wife Carol, their children Michael and Kathleen, and their granddaughter Anastasia.

Tom graduated from Toledo Central Catholic in 1955. He attended Toledo University night school to study Engineering and served in the Ohio and Michigan National Guard.

Tom worked in the automotive industry as a draftsman and a product engineer. He moved his family from Toledo, OH to Livonia, MI in 1966.

Tom enjoyed his time with friends and other activities at the family cottage on Devil’s Lake in Irish Hills, MI. His sense of humor was enjoyed by all. His hobbies included golf, bowling, going to the casino and “spirits”. Tom traveled often with his wife and enjoyed cruises and visiting exotic destinations including Las Vegas, Alaska, Australia and the Caribbean.

A visitation for Thomas will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152 with a rosary service. A funeral in state will occur Monday, April 11, 2022 at 9:00 AM at St Aidan Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48152 with funeral mass at 9:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Thomas' memory may be made to St. Joseph Mercy Home Care and Hospice.
