Elaine Gillmore

On August 29, 2021, in her 95th year, Elaine passed quietly into the presence of her Lord, whom she had loved and served for a lifetime. Precious daughter of Archie (1971) and Reta (1977) Gillmore. Loving and devoted sister to Ruth Smith (Jack), Ross Gillmore (2021)(Bernice 2018) and Sylvia Buchwald (John 2016). Special aunt to her three generations of nieces and nephews. She will be forever loved and cherished by her whole family.

Elaine had a life-long career at London Life Insurance Company. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, baking and cake decorating. She also mastered the art of tatting, a technique to create intricate lacework. There are many recipients of the bookmark crosses that she tatted. Elaine was a loyal, supportive and encouraging friend to many.

Throughout her entire life, Elaine had an unwavering faith in God and used her talents to honour Him. She truly demonstrated joy in serving Jesus. At church she could be heard singing in the trios, as well as playing the piano, organ and even the accordion. Her tender impact has been felt in the lives of many children whom she taught in Sunday School and Bible Club. Friends, missionaries and family enjoyed Elaine's hospitality and delicious meals in her home.

Elaine will be remembered as a kind and gentle person whose smile reflected her love for her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of the Life and Faith of Elaine will follow at 2pm - Knollwood Baptist Church

Private Family Interment at Robin's Hill Cemetery
