Gertrude White

WHITE, Edith Gertrude (Kicks) - On Friday, September 21st in her 96th year, Gertie, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord. She was born in Wingham, Ontario on May 12, 1917 into Loyalist lineage. Reunited again with her beloved “Johnnie“, the late John Charles White (2003). Loved and loving mother of Sharon Sanders (Barry) and Susan Stephenson (Wm. Keith). Cherished grandmother of Cade Sanders (Sarah), Ryan Sanders and Michael and Gregory Stephenson. Adoring great grandmother of Kyenna, Mara and Camden Sanders. Survived by her sister, Ethel Evelyn White (the late Joseph). Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Susan (Welsh) Kicks and siblings Elsie Mae Phillips, Violet, Harry, Robert Sydney, Frederick Hubert Charles, Lloyd Earl, Wilbert James, and Donald Kenneth Kicks. Many thanks for Mom's care to Dr. A. Annen, and the staff and volunteers of Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care,1st Floor. Special thanks to Marion Brown for the years of love and care she provided for both Mom and Dad. Visitation will be at NEEDHAM FUNERAL SERVICE on Thursday, September 27th from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 28th at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations would be appreciated to the Salvation Army for the assistance they provided in her early years, or for the Alzheimer's Society.
