

PROMOTED TO GLORY, Jon Richard Pittock at London, Ontario in his 65th year. Beloved husband of Lavina Pittock, dear father of Erik Pittock (wife Karen) and Cherie Micallef, and loving grandfather of Ethan, Austin, and Rogan Micallef.
Jon was born in Ingersoll and grew up in Woodstock. After his graduation from Woodstock Collegiate Institute he graduated from the Canadian School of Embalming in 1968. He interned with the Rowell Funeral Home (Woodstock) and later moved to London where he worked at Needham Funeral Service for 33 years.
One of Jon’s great loves was music, and he was involved with music throughout his life. Jon was a band member in the Salvation Army Woodstock Corps for 19 years, the London Citadel Band for 19 years, and in recent years was a member of both the Salvation Army Jubilee Brass and the Plumbing Factory Brass Band of London. Jon served for several years as bandmaster of the London Citadel Youth Band and was later bandmaster of the Westminster Park Corps Band. In addition to performing, Jon was also a published arranger for brass bands.
Jon is survived by his siblings Doug (wife Mary), Diane (husband Gerry), Keith (wife Bonnie), and Dale (wife Linda). He is predeceased by his brother Alan (wife Donna) and by his parents Sid and Leta.
Visitation will be at the Needham Funeral Service, 520 Dundas St., on Monday, February 20 from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services and committal will be held at the Salvation Army London Citadel Corps, 555 Springbank Drive, on Tuesday, February 21 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army Jubilee Brass would be appreciated.
