It is with deep sorrow that the family of Joseph Edmonds announces his passing on August 20, 2021, at home with loving family close by. He was in his 74th year.
Cherished husband of Anita O’Keefe, father of sons Jason (predeceased), Jordan (Margarita de la Rosa), Cameron and step-daughter Aurora Bangarth (Pierre Lyons-Thomas). Beloved Grandpa Joe to Tayla, Kaiah, Denaly and Joseph. Dear brother to Eleanor Marchant (predeceased) and Kathy Foyster (Paul). Predeceased by his parents Carl and Ivadean (nee Lamb). Joe will be missed by his cousins, nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Michelle O’Keefe and by his treasured jazz combo students/friends.
Cremation has taken place and, in keeping with Joe’s nature, a very musical Celebration of Life memorial will take place at a future date when his family, friends and students will be able to safely gather, play and enjoy Joe’s music together again.
Thank you to the special people of the South West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) for their amazing competence and empathy and to Joe’s longtime family physician, Dr. Lawrence Piche.
A donation as an expression of sympathy could be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Elisabeth Nurses who quickly became like family and were so instrumental in supporting Joe’s family in caring for him at home.
