Sybil Stratford

With great sadness we announce the passing of Sybil Kathleen Stratford (nee Neve). Sybil passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday April 22, 2022, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late George Stratford. Loving mother of Louise Stratford and husband Terry Franzke, James Stratford and wife Vera Stratford, and Bob Stratford and wife Martha Stratford. Cherished Nana of grandchildren Andrew, Will, Tom, Emily, Charlie and Christopher. Sybil also leaves behind her two dear sisters, Julia and Tricia, and her many nieces and nephews in England and the U.S.

Sybil was born and grew up in London England. After the war Sybil met and married George in 1949. In 1951 they emigrated to Canada and settled in London, Ontario, where they raised their children and lived happily for both their lives in the family home that George built in 1958. Sybil loved to sew, read and garden but her greatest joy was her family. Along the way she spent more than 30 years doing volunteer work in Victoria Hospital's "Casual Corner" retail shop where she used her keen eye and impressive fashion sense to great benefit. Sybil frequently returned to England with George for many happy family visits.

Sybil will be fondly and forever remembered for her kind spirit, warm-heartedness, and loving, generous, thoughtful nature. Sybil was the heart and soul of our family and a treasured friend and confidant of many others.
