

Mr. Allen was born in Rochester, New York on October 30, 1918 to Harry and Matildaand grew up in Lynn, Massachussetts. He graduated from high school there and went on to engineering classes at MIT, which prepared him for his early career at General Electric.
Before World War II, Mr. Allen moved to California and settled in Long Beach, where he started a machining business and met his loving first wife of 53 years, Darlene. Mr. Allen enlisted in the Army in 1943 and fought in the Phillipines. After the war, he took his family to live in Peru to explore business opportunities there. After returning, he joined Allstate Insurance Company as a salesman and experienced great success for 35 years in Long Beach and Lakewood, receiving multiple Honor Ring awards.
Mr. Allen was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite within Downey Lodge. The family was very involved in golf including charter membership in Old Ranch Country Club where Mr. Allen was a board member, as well as long membership in Virginia Country Club. Darlene preceded him in death in 1991.
He met and married his loving wife Linda in 2000 and they had the opportunity to travel extensively and build a beautiful home together.
Surviving Mr. Allen are his wife Linda, a son, Jonathan, a daughter, Pamela, and grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew and Jennifer.
