We want to take this moment to thank everyone who is here today to celebrate his life. Our father was first and foremost a man who loved and is all about his family. He immigrated here to the U.S. with his wife and young children in tow. He was a proud man and had high expectations and standards for himself and others. Despite the ravaging experiences of war in his homeland, he emerged from it with a resilient strength that he bestowed upon his children and extended family. It is because of this, his children have been able to navigate their lives and pursue their degrees and work in their prospective fields. This strength and determination was extended to his nieces/nephews and grandchildren. Everyone here can attest and experienced some sort of math tutoring! He believed in everyone and wholeheartedly saw the best potential in everyone.
Besides his resiliency, he had a youthful and jovial sense of energy and always stayed positive. Everyone who knew him knew his sense of humor. His laughter was infectious and his eyes always sparkled. He was everyone’s father. A paternal and steady male role model, he made sure to share his love and support with everyone. Henryman loved his books and the pursuit of knowledge. He loved reading newspapers and loved to engage (even when no one wanted to) about current events and politics. He loved his coffee and conversations with people. He was a daydreamer and realist. He always encouraged everyone to pursue their sense of happiness. He was happiest being around his children and family and we know he is content knowing that he lived his best possible life. His unselfishness in ensuring everyone’s else’s happiness is what made him the man he was and we know he wouldn’t have changed anything. He was fulfilled in this regard, and we know he expects that the next generation will continue to nurture and be there for one another.
We know he is grateful for his 87 years on this earth and that his memories will continue to be shared and be passed on. Life moves on and although it feels hard at the moment, He would want us to honor and carry on his legacy by continuing to be the best that we can be and to remember to be kind to oneself and to others. Thank you all for taking the time to honor this great man and his life.
