John Jay Johnson was born August 20, 1954 in Belcourt, North Dakota he was the son of Roger and Mary Rose Johnson. He was a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. John is survived by his wife Kathy; four children- Angela, Jamie, Brianna, and Dustin; nine siblings- Shannon, Lester, Mike, Roger, Kathy, Joe, Beth, Tracy and Pat; Five grandchildren- Daniel, Racquel, Crista, Aiden, Anissa and great grandchild Dominic; two brother-in-laws- Tiny and Nellie, and sister-in-law- Alice. John is also survived by his brother’s family- Roger Jr., Debby, Joe & Kathy and their 5 children, Alan, Kari and Joey. John was preceded in death by his father Roger and mother Mary Rose.
