Larry (Liverato) C. Garcia was born July 4, 1923 in Gallup, New Mexico to Jeremias and Acension Garcia. As the story goes his mother went into labor during a 4th of July baseball game. That would explain Larry's love of the Angels Baseball team. Larry entered the Navy at 17 and served for 3 years. He would be honored that he passed on December 7, 2011. Larry was very proud of being in the Navy. He served during Pearl Harbor in World War II. He stated," Being in the Navy was the best time because he got to see so much". Larry married Lucy Lopez on July 22, 1945 in Barstow California. They moved to Lakewood California in 1950 and purchased the family home which is still in existence. Larry worked for Karpens Furniture when he arrived in Lakewood. One year later he went to work for Douglas Aircraft. He was hired as a B1 riveter in 1952. He then became a lead on the assembly line, after which he was promoted to management and then years later became a company representative for Scandinavian and Italia Airlines. Larry had a love of cars, which the family affectionately called the "Fleet". He also loved animals. Most times you could find him watching the animal channel. The love of his life was his family. He adored the grand-kids and loved to get together. Larry is survived by his wife Lucy of 66 years, 4 children: Ronnie, Richard, Regina and Robert, 14 grandchildren, 15 1/2 great grandchildren, 3 1/2 great great grandchildren.
