Lawrence Edward Brewer

Lawrence was born in Oklahoma on February 2, 1919 and passed away February 27, 2012 at the age of 93. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Survived by his loving wife of 72 1/2 years, Lillie Mae; 3 children, Ora Johnson, James L. (Arunya), Serita (Gene) Walker; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Robert E. (1999). Lawrence moved to Long Beach in 1952 from Amarillo, Texas to continue to raise his 4 children. He was machinist/warehouseman worker until he retired at age 65. His hobby and passion was his woodwork; making birdhouses, flowers and anything his imagination could dream up. One of his greatest joys was sharing and giving his work away, seeing the joy on others faces. He was loved by many and will be missed. Services Thursday, March 8, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Chapel.
