

Martin J. Wisniewski of Lakewood, CA, formally of Riverdale, NJ died on February 2; he was 65. Marty was born in Jersey City NJ and moved to Riverdale with his family in 1957. He graduated St. Mary’s School in Pompton Lakes and DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne. Marty was a dedicated altar boy, Trends paper boy, Riverdale Boy Scout, and served in the U.S. Navy. After an honorable discharge from the navy, Marty worked for Todd Shipyard, in San Pedro California as an electrician and made California his permanent home. He retired from the city of Los Angeles as an electrician. Marty was a hard-working, good-time guy with a heart as big as he was. Those who knew him and loved him will remember him as a generous, kind, observant, sensitive individual who was a sincere friend, sports enthusiast, good cook who loved to play poker, the horses and go to rock concerts. He loved his family and his dogs and was a NY Giants fan in spite of being a Californian.
Marty leaves behind his friend and companion, Betty Plunkett, his sister Catherine Decker, his brother Buddy and his wife Linda, his brother Jan, his sister Mary Stratton and her husband Tom, his nephew and nieces David, Sharon, Tara, Amanda and Emily, and his caregivers for six years, Lynn Wite and Pearl Lopez.
He was predeceased by his mother in 1968 and father in 1992.
