

Age 59, born October 6th, 1952, passed away September 23rd, 2012.
Survived by 5 sisters, Frances, Lelia, Mary, Donna, Deanna; 7 brothers, Jesse, Raymond, Leonard, Timothy, Christopher, Benjamin, Tyrone. Also, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pre-deceased by parents, Albert & Vyvyan, 3 brothers, Lawrence, James and Tony.
Our special loving sister Maxine "Mackie" was born at St. Mary's hospital in Long Beach, California on October 6th, 1952 and lived in Long Beach until the age of 3, then moved to Lakewood where she grew up and lived there for the rest of her life. Maxine was well known in and around the community by many people, she was friendly and outgoing. Maxine always made everyone laugh with her funny personality, she also had a special gift in remembering peoples names and birthdays, she never forgot anyone.
Maxine had many accomplishments throughout her life and earned many volunteer certificates and awards with her hard work and dedication. Maxine was a volunteer at the community parks, FHP Hospital, Tour de Cure (cancer), American Diabetes Foundation, and The March of Dimes.
Throughout the years Maxine attended Cole Vocational, Cerritos College, and Long Beach City College where she studied various courses, played sports and received a certificate in Volleyball and Basketball, she also played Tennis. Maxine was also a student at Rio Hondo and participated in the program from Easter Seals.
Maxine will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach on October 6th, which would have been her 60th birthday.
Mackie will be truly be missed by all, may she rest in peace.
