Patricia Ann Caveness (Trudewind), age 82, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of July 25, 2013. She grew up in the Washington D.C. area and trained in swimming for the Olympics. She was of great faith and walked in the ways of the Lord. She was a living example of what a Roman Catholic practitioner should be to her family, friends and community. She taught and was the principal of the CCD classes at St. Maria Goretti and St. Cyprian’s Catholic Schools in Long Beach in the 1960’s. She married Clarence (Rod) Caveness in 1950, then bought a house in Lakewood, raised eight great kids and lived happily ever after, that is until Alzheimer’s robbed her of her memory. She was comforted, respected, and honored by her eight children who loved her so much. “I am the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me though he were dead yet shall he live.” While we grieve her passing, we are at peace remembering her as the world’s greatest mom a family could have. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our mom at this time. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Clarence “Rod” Caveness and brother Jack Trudewind; survived by her brother Leon Trudewind; sons Rodney (Jeane), Ronald (Beverly), Richard (Ali), Russell (Mary Jo), Robert (Amy), daughters Christina Gables (Rick), Milissa Spencer (Ken), Patty Ann Sodel (Sven), and 16 grandchildren.
