Leaving to mourn, his sons Phong Linh Ngo (Thi Nam Ngan Le) and Phong Liem Ngo (Ly Sanh Sau), his five grandchildren, and his six siblings.
Ky Phong was born on November 13, 1933, in Thua Thien, Vietnam. He studied medicine at the University of Saigon and, after graduation, served the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. From 1970 to 1975, he was on assignment to the Ministry of Health as Director of the Provincial Department of Health of the City of Kien Phong, where he also practiced obstetric and family medicine. Incarcerated by the Communists in various prisons and labor camps after the fall of the South Vietnam, he was released in 1980 and shortly after fled the country by boat. Reunited with his spouse and sons in Montreal, Ky Phong made Quebec his home and contributed to the health care of the people of the province until his retirement as a physician in 2008.
