Adrian Joyce Short, beloved wife, mother and “Granny” passed away peacefully in Wylie, Texas on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was born February 19, 1931 in Dallas, TX to Ola and A.G. Floyd.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy Kelley and husband Larry of Garland; her son Larry Short and wife Mary of Longview; her sister Dorothy Simon of Dallas; grandchildren Karen & Scott Fuller, Kevin Kelley, James Paul Short, Amy & Greg Hurst, Victoria & Michael Awbrey, as well as 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband James P. Short and her son, Garry P. Short, her sisters Annie Jo Floyd, Alma Floyd, Chris Hudgins, Margaret Buchanan and her brothers Bill Floyd and Edwin Schrimpf.
Joyce was treasured by her family and her friends. We will miss her very much.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, Longview, TX with Rev. Dick Lindsey officiating.
