Cayetana Álvarez de Cerda

Se casó con Sebastián Cerda y estuvieron casados por 55 años. Tuvieron 12 hijos; Teresa, Gaudencio, Dolores, Abel, Agustína, Antonio, Martha, Javier, Jesús, José, Lorena y Norma.

A lo largo de su vida, fue una mujer de profunda fe católica, con un corazón inmenso y una pasión inigualable por cuidar de su familia. Fue una madre ejemplar y una abuelita adorada, que no solo ofreció su amor incondicional, sino también su sabiduría y sus dones en el arte de hacer del hogar un lugar lleno de amor.

Entre sus pasatiempos favoritos estaban el tejido y el canto de sus oraciones preferidas, que entonaba con una dulzura que conmovía a todos los que la escuchaban. Su legado de amor, fe y dedicación sigue vivo en cada uno de sus hijos y nietos, quienes atesoran cada enseñanza que ella les dejó.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Sebastián Cerda y sus padres, Felipa Ramírez de Álvarez y Porfirio Álvarez. Le sobreviven sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos.

Cayetana Álvarez de Cerda passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren.

She married Sebastián Cerda and they were married for 55 years. They had 12 children: Teresa, Gaudencio, Dolores, Abel, Agustína, Antonio, Martha, Javier, Jesús, José, Lorena, and Norma.

Throughout her life, she was a woman of deep Catholic faith, with an immense heart and an unparalleled passion for caring for her family. She was an exemplary mother and a beloved grandmother, who not only offered her unconditional love, but also her wisdom and gifts in the art of making the home a place full of love.

Among her favorite pastimes were knitting and singing her favorite prayers, which she sang with a sweetness that moved all who heard her. Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication lives on in each of her children and grandchildren, who treasure every lesson she taught them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sebastián Cerda and her parents, Felipa Ramírez de Álvarez and Porfirio Álvarez. She survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
