Dixie Bangs, 62, of Longview, TX passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012 at her residence.
Dixie was a beloved mother, daughter and sister. She was born on July 24, 1949 in Mexia, TX to William R. and Sallie O. Clark. She graduated from Henderson High School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Texas Baptist University.
Dixie is survived by her son, Shay Paul Bangs of San Antonio, TX and his wife Anglea Brooks Bangs and her son Gabriel Xavier Rex Shepard-Hicks. Shay Paul has served in the Navy for seven years and has the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. She is also survived by two sisters-Jody Allen and her husband Howard of Longview, TX; and Becky Grisham and her husband Eddie of Silsbee, TX; as well as her mother-Sallie O. Clark of Longview, TX. She is also survived by nephews Eric Allen of Longview, and Clint Grisham of Silsbee, TX; nieces Ashley Allen of Longview, and Kara Grisham of Silsbee, and five great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX.
