Ione Hagan Fouts

Ione Hagan Fouts, age 100, passed away on December 29, 2025 in Kilgore, TX. She was born on June 27, 1925 in Stuttgart, AR to Hade and Mary Esther Hagan. Ione was raised in Liberty City, TX and graduated from Sabine High School. She married Joseph Lee Fouts on August 31, 1948 and the couple had 1 child, Larry. She was a devoted homemaker throughout their marriage and lived out her faith daily through service to her family, her church, and everyone she met. In her spare time, Ione enjoyed cooking and hosting family and friends in their home, volunteering to help with church activities, and working on her many hobbies which included quilting and creating beautiful Christmas tree ornaments.

She is preceded in death by: husband, Joseph Fouts; son, Larry Fouts; parents, Hade and Mary Esther Hagan; sisters, Jeanne Puryear and Lynne Oberthier.

She is survived by: daughter-in-law, Carol Fouts; grandchildren, Terry Fouts and Jim Fouts; great grandchildren, Ashley Stephenson, Jessica Melchor, Giorgio Bostice, Lorenzo Fouts, D’Angelo Fouts, and Tiffany Fouts; many great great grandchildren.

Other notes and accomplishments: She was on third line of Kilgore College Rangerettes, and a member of Chandler St. Church of Christ for over 30 years.

A visitation will be held on January 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Chandler Street Church of Christ, located at 2700 Chandler St, Kilgore, TX 75662. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Following the service will be a committal at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, located at 5000 W. Harrison Rd, Longview, TX 75604.
