Uncle Jim. I sure do miss you! I think of you now and then and that old saying when the sun sets just right and everything is as it should be. “Ain’t this livin’.” I remember sneaking those black olives and candy from the old back fridge with Leann as young girls. You were always so kind. My parents miss you too. Take care Uncle Jim.

Proverbs 11:25--He that watereth shall be watered also himself.

We are here taught the great lesson, that to get, we must give; that to accumulate, we must scatter; that to make ourselves happy, we must make others happy; and that in order to become spiritually vigorous, we must seek the spiritual good of others. In watering others, we are ourselves watered. How? Our efforts to be useful, bring out our powers for usefulness. We have latent talents and dormant faculties, which are brought to light by exercise. Our strength for labour is hidden even from ourselves, until we venture forth to fight the Lord's battles, or to climb the mountains of difficulty. We do not know what tender sympathies we possess until we try to dry the widow's tears, and soothe the orphan's grief. We often find in attempting to teach others, that we gain instruction for ourselves. Oh, what gracious lessons some of us have learned at sick beds! We went to teach the Scriptures, we came away blushing that we knew so little of them. In our converse with poor saints, we are taught the way of God more perfectly for ourselves and get a deeper insight into divine truth. So that watering others makes us humble. We discover how much grace there is where we had not looked for it; and how much the poor saint may outstrip us in knowledge. Our own comfort is also increased by our working for others. We endeavour to cheer them, and the consolation gladdens our own heart. Like the two men in the snow; one chafed the other's limbs to keep him from dying, and in so doing kept his own blood in circulation, and saved his own life. The poor widow of Sarepta gave from her scanty store a supply for the prophet's wants, and from that day she never again knew what want was. Give then, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and running over.

I will never forget Jim.  The days he took the widowed ladies to lunch. I wasn't a widow,  but I was always invited.  My list of memories goes on and on.

And, I thank you for eternal life through  salvation through Jesus Christ  that one day Joey, James, Maxwell and myself will reunite with my dad forever .  Rest In Peace until then daddy. James Barton Webb -August 1947-WWII Navy Veteran- Honorable Discharge

To the Family....On my last communication I meant to say Wilber as Jame's brother, not JL. I loved them all and communicated with them all.  Got the names mixed up.  Apologies.  

I could share lots of memories but not enough space here!  James was wonderful.  I knew him as a child as he would come see my parents, Archie & Jo Lyons.  As a child you don't pay much attention to things, but I do remember certain times when we would visit my Aunt Lessie Willey in Longview and they would go out.  As I got older my daddy told me many stories about him, and he would come visit in El Dorado, Arkansas.  They were very close, as was J.L.  Both brothers were pallbearers at my mothers funeral.  That is the first time that I had seen them in many years.  My husband and I stopped to see him a few times over the years when we would travel to Texas.  On one trip his son was there to meet us as well.  Guess we used to play together in El Dorado when we were kids.   First time we visited James had a short beard, last time he had a very long beard.  He was such a cute fella!  I was very sad to hear of both deaths, his brother and his own.  I surely enjoyed the email communications with them both, and the talks with James on the phone.  When James did not answer my Happy Birthday email this last summer, I expected there was a problem.  I wish I had known because I surely would have attended his funeral.  If the family wishes to contact me, I am certainly ok with that.     I wanted to add a photo that James sent me of him, my dad, JL and another cousin, but I am unable to find it at the moment.  Just wanted to say Love and Prayers to his family.   I  think about him often.  I miss him.  He always had a way of cheering me up!

Jim, I will miss you. You were a very close friend and a special person in my life. This picture was on your 89th birthday. We celebrated it with the Boxcar gang. And wished you a happy Birthday when you blew out the #89 candle on your cake. You said then you would see us on your 90th and you did. You were our senior member. Love you my friend.
