Jesse Ray Coplan, 75, of Longview, TX passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at a local hospital. He was born on October 9, 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jessie Grandvill and Beulah Beatrice Coplan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, especially growing his muscadine and grapes. He was a member of the Jay Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by sons: Billy Coplan and his wife Lois of Bossier City, LA, Howell Coplan of Little Rock, Ark., John Hoover of Abilene, TX; daughter: Mary Pardo of Killeen, TX; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters, and a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Fumiko (Judy) Suzuki Coplan, three brothers, and two sisters.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Chapel of the Memory Park Mausoleum in Longview, TX with Rev. Craig Evers officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Lakeview Funeral Home. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Texas Oncology Longview Cancer Center 1300 North 4th Street Longview, TX 75601.
