LONGVIEW — Graveside services for Joyce A. Rodgers, 78, of Longview, will be 3 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Lakeview Funeral Home. Mrs. Rodgers was born January 21, 1933, in Texarkana, Ark., and died September 10, 2011, in Longview.

Joyce A. Greer Rodgers, 78 of Longview, TX passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011. Graveside services were conducted September 16, 2011 under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home, Longview, TX, with Bobby McWhirter officiating. Interment followed in the Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Rodgers was survived by a daughter Tracy L. Rodgers - Martin, son-in-law Darrin Martin and grandson Jaden Martin of Clearwater, FL; brother Charles O. “Corkey” Greer of Gladewater, sisters Pat Roe of Yuma, AZ; Frances Ferguson and brother-in-law Doyle; and Kelly D. Butler and brother-in-law Paul all of Gladewater, four nephews; James McWhirter and Robert McWhirter of Hampton, Arkansas, Drennan Pope of Ft. Worth, Sean Butler of Tyler, and three nieces Toni Kay Gruver of White Oak, Glenda Kerr of Irving and Linda Rymer of Ft. Worth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milas M. Rodgers of Irving, father Charlie Calvin Greer, mother Edna Lorene Greer, sister Suzanne McWhirter, sister-in-law LaWanda Greer and brother-in-law Sam Roe.

Joyce lived many years in Irving, TX where she worked as a secretary/bookkeeper. After the death of her beloved husband she moved to Gladewater where she worked as a church secretary until 1997 when she retired.
