Louis Aaron Bruney

Louis was born in Kilgore, Texas to John Louis Bruney and Ida Mae Aaron of Kilgore, Texas. Upon graduation from high school, Louis enlisted in the armed services. Louis retired with an honorable discharge after 20 years of service. After which, Louis returned to East Texas to be among family and friends. In 1976, while attending Kilgore College, Louis met and married Eleanor C. Brumley Cureton. Their extended family included Richard A. Bruney, (d), Darcy W. Cureton,(d), Maury J. Cureton, and Kristy M. Cureton. Louis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years Eleanor, who succumbed to breast cancer in 2014 and son Richard and stepson Darcy. Although, Louis preferred to live alone, he was never alone thanks to the loving support of his friends and neighbors on Creekwood lane.

Louis is survived by Maury Cureton, Kristy Cureton Mosier and Chrystal and Carl Schossow and granddaughter Rikki. Also 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

A time of visitation with his family will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will occur Friday, September 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home.
