
Martha Pauline Troop passed from this world January 17, 2017. Martha was born February 3, 1929 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Tilman and Martha Holland. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brothers Emory, Enver, Laurence and Clarence, and her sisters Opal Palmer and Geneva England Archer.
Martha Is survived by her husband of 65 years Lee Troop, her sister Betty Duncan, her daughters Candra Troop, Cathy Appleby ( Bill), grandchildren Jerry, Cara Lundquist (Brett), Billy and Cody, and her great-grandson Nolan. She is also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many beloved friends including special friends Kelly Campbell and Lisa Evers. Also her beloved furbaby, Penny.
Martha survived polio at the age of 16. She met the challenges presented by this with grace and a strong faith. She persevered, believing that “when you hit a bump in the road, do something for someone else and your problems will not seems so great.” She and Lee married on the CBS television show, “Bride and Groom” in New York City. Martha’s wedding gown was a dress that had previously been worn by actress Ann Blyth in the movie, “The World In His Arms.” Martha retired from Doctors Hospital in Dallas. The family wishes to express their heart felt gratitude to the staff at Highland Pines for their loving care during her brief stay.
