Mary Justine Bartos Dzierzanowski

Mary Dzierzanowski, 86, of Longview, TX passed away on April 5, 2017 at a local hospital. She was born June 22, 1930 to Beatrice and Emil Bartos, Czech immigrants and farmers in Iowa Colony, TX. She graduated from Alvin High School and shared the title of Salutatorian of her graduating class of 1948. After high school, she attended Durham's Business School in Houston to study bookkeeping, typing, and shorthand. Mrs. Dzierzanowski dedicated her life to her family as wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of the PTA, Garden Club, the neighborhood Bible Study, and the Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her children: James Dzierzanowski of Houston, Linda Bishop and her husband Mike of Mt. Pleasant, Mark Dzierzanowski of Longview, and Brenda Dzierzanowski of Longview; her grandchildren: Jocelyn O'Neal and her husband Ryan of Marquez, TX, Lance Bishop and his wife Heather of Hilltop Lakes, TX, and Lee Bishop and his wife Perla of Temple, TX; great grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth O'Neal, Annabeth O'Neal, Asa O'Neal all of Marquez and Nicholas Bishop of Temple; her sister: Pauline Olsovsky and her husband John of Rosharon, TX and Delores Tacquard and her husband George of Alvin, TX; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents , Beatrice and Emil Bartos of Iowa Colony; her husband Steve Dzierzanowski of Longview; sister: Beatrice Vincent and brother-in-law, Riley Vincent of Rosharon, TX and stepbrother: Jude Lyons of Pearland.

A rosary will be recited in her honor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 2800 Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX. with Rev. Msgr. Xavier Pappu officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
