Mike was born to Joseph Weldon and Doris Kathlyn Carter League on February 22, 1942 in Paris, Texas. He moved to the White Oak area in 1951 and attended White Oak Schools, where he was known by many as “Monk”. Mike was employed by Spencer Harris Machine and Tool Company for 47 years and retired as a Shop Superintendent.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Dustin Lee Hicks.
He is survived by two brothers, Bobby League and Billy League and his wife Alice; his children, Dana League Hicks of Liberty City, Gene League and wife Lucretia of Kilgore, and Denise League Griffith and wife Constance of Hallsville, grandchildren, Cody Hicks and his wife Laura, Stephen Hicks and his wife Kylie, Amber Carrington and her husband Chad, Haley League and Katelynn Griffith, as well as four great grandchildren,. The family would like to recognize and give special thanks to Mike’s long time best friend Bobby Hodges.
