
Mildred C. "Millie" Johnson, age 93, of White Oak, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. Born on April 16, 1932, in Overton, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of James A. and Velva M. Clements. Millie’s early years were spent in Kilgore, Texas, where she graduated from Gaston High School and later earned her degree from Kilgore College, laying out the foundation for a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication to her family.
On April 18, 1953, Millie married the love of her life, Franklin "Dale" Johnson. Together, they created a warm and loving home, raising three wonderful children who were the pride and joy of her life. Millie initially worked as a secretary at Mobil Oil before embracing her most fulfilling role as a devoted stay-at-home mother, where her nurturing spirit flourished.
Millie had a zest for life that was evident in her many passions. She found joy in watching Westerns and beloved classic TV shows such as Andy Griffith, MASH, McClintock, and The Cowboys. Her simple pleasures included indulging in her favorite McDonald's Happy Meal—four-piece Chicken Nuggets, double French Fries, Honey Mustard, and a Dr Pepper—followed by a cup of Blue Bell Ice Cream and Oreos. These small delights brought her immense happiness and were often shared with family, creating lasting memories.
A woman of remarkable strength and determination, Millie was known for her unwavering motivation and commitment to her goals. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel the world, living in Tripoli, Libya for eight years and London, England for three years, while also visiting numerous other countries. These experiences enriched her life and broadened her perspective, which she lovingly shared with her family.
Millie will be remembered as "Pop's" beloved wife, a devoted mother, and a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dale; sister Christine; and brother Les.
Millie is survived by her sons Kevin, Alan, and Stuart; daughters-in-law Missy and Kelly; grandsons Cole, Cody, and Zach; Niece Sharon; and nephew Ben.
Rest in peace, dear Millie. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
