“The Gun Whisperer”
Visitation for Phillip Thomas Luchau, 64 of White Oak, Texas, will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Lakeview Funeral Home.
Mr. Luchau was born January 16, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas to Jean and Mary Jarmar Luchau, and passed away during a medical procedure on September 30, 2015 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Phillip served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War., He also was a police officer in East Texas for over 12 years before his retirement. He was a pawn broker for more than 20 years, but he is best known as “The Gun Whisperer”. Phillip was the best gun man around. There is nothing that he couldn’t do with a gun of any kind. Repairing or trading, there isn’t anything Phillip didn’t know on the subject. He was world renown for his repair techniques and skill, often helping others with his vast knowledge. Phillip also loved music and traveling. He is preceded in death by his father, Jean Luchau. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Carolyn McClish, daughter, Deedee Worley and husband Eric, mother, Mary Sharpe, and sister, Constance Luchau, grandsons, Phillip Wedin and Brandon Wedin., niece, Stacy Shelton, nephew, Kelly Shelton, as well as many other beloved family members, all of his police and military buddies and his Chub Chubs. The family encourages donations me made to the American Diabetes Association. Phillip was loved by those that knew him. He was so funny and could be so kind and loving. He will be missed by many.
