

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years, helping install radar sites along the United States and Canadian borders. His time in the service reflected the patriotism and strong work ethic that would define the rest of his life.
Following his military service, Richard devoted 50 years to the financial industry, serving as a Credit Union President for many of those years. He was respected for his integrity, steady leadership, and steadfast commitment to the people and communities he served.
Richard was a hardworking man who took great pride in caring for his home and family. He found joy and peace working in his yard, tending to it with patience and dedication. On rainy days, he could often be found at the table working on a puzzle, enjoying the quiet challenge. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making others laugh.
Above all, Richard loved his family deeply. He adored his wife of 37 years, Gloria Dean “Dowdy” Daly, and their love was the foundation of his life. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather who treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Dean “Dowdy” Daly; his children, Josh Daly of Rusk, Texas; Emily Morrison and husband Mike of Henderson, Nevada; Jennifer Stanley and husband Donny of Diana, Texas; and Jerry Fears and wife Celeste of Hallsville, Texas; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Richard will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his warm humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.
