

Rick Stolz, of Longview, TX, was born on October 12, 1944, and passed away with family by his side on Friday, October 18, 2024. Rick was born in Springfield, MO. His family later moved to Tyler, TX where he graduated from John Tyler High School in 1963. Rick met his future bride, Sharon, through friends, and they married on Valentine’s Day in 1964. They moved to Longview, where they raised two daughters and built a beautiful life together.
Rick spent his career in the trucking industry, starting on the dock and moving up through hard work and an engaging personality to retire as a branch manager. Rick served many years in the Longview Jaycees, Longview Masonic Lodge, and Ambucs, where he served as president. Rick was an avid dog lover, he enjoyed golf ,and he loved to spend Saturdays in the fall cheering for both the Texas Longhorns and LSU Tigers. His absolute favorite thing to do was make people laugh and be the funny man in the room. His lighthearted energy will be missed each time family and friends gather. Rick was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Woods Stolz and Robert Stolz, and his brother, Terry Stolz. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Sharon Simmons Stolz; daughter Stacy Jimerson, daughter and son-in-law Wendy and Todd Smith; granddaughters Rikki (Brent) Patterson, Devin Jimerson, Tatum and Clara Smith and grandson Noah Smith; his great granddaughters Saylor, Vallen and Dylan Patterson, Miles DeLeon; his twin brother, Robert Stolz; and many loving friends.
The family would like to express deep gratitude for those who helped care for Rick over these past few months. Jami and Abbie at Longview Regional; Natalie, Kim and Jessica from PrimeCare Hospice; and Trina Curry. They are doing God’s work.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 PM on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Crossings in Mobberly Baptist Church.
